Bonded Wool Cotton - Hacker
A bonded wool and cotton fabric with a classic black and white gingham check, designed for structured outerwear.
This double-sided cloth combines 50% wool and 50% cotton, bonded together in the UK to create a stable and durable fabric. One side features a traditional gingham check in black and white wool, while the reverse is a solid black cotton layer.
Originally produced for a premium handmade raincoat label, this fabric was used for trench coats and mackintosh-style outerwear where durability and structure were important. The bonded construction helps the fabric hold its shape while providing protection from light rain and wind.
The reversible construction allows either side to be used in garment design, making it a versatile option for coats, jackets and structured outerwear.
